We offer premium scanning services for old photos, negatives, and slides. As image scientists we understand the fundamental principals behind digital image formation and we developed our White Glove Scanning Service to ensure that your photos are digitized in the best way possible. We only perform our scanning one way--the RIGHT way--for a flat fee per scan. Large online photo scanning services lure you in with their "low" prices, only to hit you with a la carte fees in order to (almost) scan your photos properly. Plus, with online services you must put your precious photos in the mail (and some companies further send your photos around the world for scanning--yikes!). We scan all of your photos ourselves here in Dayton, OH, so that they go directly from your hands to ours and are out of your possession for the shortest amount of time possible. We perform basic restoration on each scanned photo by hand, with options for additional advanced restoration services for those extra special photos.

Squaresuit's White Glove Scanning Service includes:

• All your photos/slides/negatives are scanned on our professional-grade scan equipment
• Photos are scanned at 600 pixels per inch (PPI) and slides/negatives at 5000 (PPI)
• We always scan your photos into uncompressed TIFF format, the best format for photo restoration work. Only AFTER restoration should your photos be converted to a compressed format, such as JPEG
• Both the front and back of your photos are scanned to preserve any important information
• We perform basic photo restoration by hand on each scanned photo (see our Simple-level Photo Restoration for a description)
• Your restored photos are placed in a private online proofing gallery for review. Additional restoration work can be requested and we can generate an estimate
• Your scanned and restored photos are output as both high quality JPEG and TIFF images
• All raw and restored photos are delivered on a provided USB Thumb Drive/Hard Drive (depending on order size)
• All scanning is performed by us locally in Dayton, Ohio
• Quick Turnaround : We coordinate with you so that we have your photos for a minimal amount of time.

The Scanning Process:

Our White Glove Scanning Service is very straight-forward.

1.) Get a free photo scanning estimate: Either call us at (937) 540-4004 or contact us via email so that we can discuss the particulars of your scanning needs and get you an accurate cost estimate. We ask that you remove all photos from albums and place them into groups (or an explicit order) that you would like them scanned. Slides can be left in carousels or removed and group into a particular order for scanning. To best protect your photos, place them in a photo box or grouped into plastic baggies to minimize dust and debris collecting on them.

2.) When you are ready to proceed: We can arrange to pick up your photos (within the Dayton area) or for you to drop them off at our studio. We ask for a 25% deposit on your order (paid through your account on our website or by cash or check when we receive your pictures).

Note: While we focus our scanning service locally within the Southwest region of Ohio, we are open to taking mail orders. Please contact us if you are interested!

3.) Proofing: Once we have your photos, we carefully (and properly) scan them and perform our Simple-level Photo Restoration by hand on each photo. Once completed, we upload your scanned and restored photos to a private proofing gallery (with protective watermarks) where you are free to view and share your photos. At that point you can approve each photo or request additional improvements (some may require an additional advanced restoration cost, which we can provide an estimate for if desired). We continue this process until you approve ALL edited photos.

4.) Delivery: Once you are satisfied with your photo scans, upon payment of the remaining balance of your order, we then deliver your restored photos (without any watermarks) on a provided memory stick (or hard drive for large orders). We always deliver the raw scanned TIFF files and the restored versions in both JPEG and TIFF format.

5.) Printing Options: We also offer options for printing your restored photos once the scanning and restoration process is complete. Printing options are offered directly in your online proofing gallery for your convenience.
